TEA has released a new Commissioner's List of Approved Prekindergarten Instruments for use during the 2024-2025 through 2026-2027 school years in accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC) §29.169 and 28.006. This new list replaces the previous 2017-2022 list posted above and will go into effect starting the 2024-2025 school year. School districts and open-enrollment charter schools should now select instruments from the updated 2024-2025 through 2026-2027 Commissioner's List of Approved Prekindergarten (PK) Instruments when planning for the school year 2024-2025 and beyond.
All vendors on the new Commissioner-approved List were extended an invite to take part in a showcase event in November 2023 to share important information regarding their tool. The webinars provided from the showcase are a resource for local education agencies (LEAs) to prepare for possible prekindergarten changes in the 2024-2025 school year and more information about the tools (listed in alphabetical order) can be found below.
